Conservatism

Posted by Midas Mulligan on October 2, 2009

Why is that the best conservative voices are no longer in office, Fred, Newt, and Santorum….There are 3 of the leaders we need to step up and take on Liberalism, Obama, and terrorism.  The current people running the GOP do not have a clue!!  In 2012, there is only one choice, Fred Thompson and Santorum.  Please team up gentleman!

We need the likes of Rudy, Mitt, Huck and Sarah to run for the senate in the upcoming years and turn the Senate upside down and straighten that place out.  And most importantly, in 2010 get the word out on pat Toomey in PA and Marco Rubio in Florida.  These are the people we need now!

An open Letter to John Cornyn and the NRSC

An open Letter to John Cornyn and the NRSC

Senator Cornyn,

It is a disgrace that you have come out and endorsed Charlie Crist in Florida for the Senate, over Marco Rubio.  You people are doing the same thing that was done in 2008, when the party ended up with Senator McCain as our nominee.  I am so tired of politicians endorsing RINO’s over, and over and over.  We just got rid of Arlen Specter(thankfully) and now we end up with the NRSC endorsing a Governor who stood side by side with Barack Obama on the stimulus package.  How can you endorse Charlie Crist when he supported the stimulus, yet all of you voted against it except for Specter, Collins and Snow.  It appears to me that the Senate Republicans are willing to trade one abysmal Republican Senator in Arlen Specter for an even bigger failure in Charlie Crist, and do not even get me started about all of the talk 2 weeks in my state of PA regarding Pat Toomey and thankfully he dropped out Tom Ridge.  Do me a favor, please at least stay the hell out of PA politics because I and many other Conservatives within my state do not want you there at all!  I am so fed up with people like you in both parties that I wish we could vote you all out.  Looking in a mirror must be extremely difficult because the only thing you must see is a rat, because that is all you all are.

I am fed up with people like you and other members of the NRSC endorsing a bozo like Charlie Crist.  What does it matter if we win the election if his vote is the same as Specter’s?  Go ponder that while becoming a Democrat!

Food for Thought on a Monday morning

Posted by Midas Mulligan on May 4, 2009

As long as so-called Republicans (Mitt Romney, Michael Steele, Mike Huckabee, & John McCain) keep talking and sniping at Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, Pat Toomey and other top conservatives this party is not really going to create inroads into re-establishing itself.
It amazes me (not really as they were part of Reagan) but Experienced Conservatives like Fred Thompson and Newt Gingrich are the ones who espouse the true words of Ronal Reagan.
However, the RINO-type conservatives such as Mitt Romney, John McCain, Michael Steele, and thankfully no more Arlen Specter, do not understand conservatism.
The way you bring the public inside your tent is by speaking the principles that opened the tent.
That tent has been closed and has been blown over to the left which is why John McCain lost, as long as RINO Conservatives do not give the defining meaning of Conservatism Republican vs. Liberal Democratization.
Independent and moderate Democrats are going to vote for the Democrat because when you are not voting for something, but rather against someone, then you have no true candidate and one goes with the person he/she feels will in the end “give” you as much for free.

Good riddance to Specter

Posted by Midas Mulligan on April 28, 2009

I would rather lose the election in 2010, than have Arlen Specter as a republican anymore.  He has not been on of us in a long time, if ever.  He started as a Dem and lost, he will end as a Dem, and lose.

Apr 28, 12:45 PM EDT Specter says he’s switching from GOP to Democrats By DAVID ESPO AP Special Correspondent

— Veteran Republican Sen. Arlen Specter disclosed plans Tuesday to switch parties, a move intended to boost his chances of winning re-election next year that will also push Democrats closer to a 60-vote filibuster-resistant majority. “I now find my political philosophy more in line with Democrats than Republicans,” Specter said in a statement posted on a Web site devoted to Pennsylvania politics and confirmed by his office. Several Senate officials said a formal announcement could come later in the day or Wednesday. Specter, 79 and in his fifth term, is one of a handful of Republican moderates remaining in Congress in a party now dominated by conservatives. Several officials said the White House as well as leaders in both parties had been involved in discussions leading to his move. With Specter, Democrats would have 59 Senate seats. Al Franken is ahead in a marathon recount in Minnesota, and if he ultimately wins his race against Republican Norm Coleman, he would become the party’s 60th vote. That is the number needed to overcome a filibuster. Specter faced an extraordinarily difficult re-election challenge in his home state in 2010, having first to confront a challenge from his right in the Republican primary before pivoting to a general election campaign against a Democrat. “I am unwilling to have my twenty-nine year Senate record judged by the Pennsylvania Republican primary electorate,” he said in the statement. “I don’t have to say anything to them. They said it to me,” Specter said, when asked in a Capitol corridor about abandoning the GOP. A senior White House official, speaking on the condition of anonymity because no announcement has yet been made, said at 10:25 a.m. EDT Tuesday President Barack Obama was handed a note while in the Oval Office during his daily economic briefing. The note said: “Specter is announcing he is changing parties.” At 10:32, Obama reached Specter by phone and told him “you have my full support” and that the Democratic Party is “thrilled to have you.” Specter had publicly acknowledged that to win in 2010, he would need thousands of Pennsylvania voters who switched from Republican to Democrat last year to vote for Obama to flip back to the GOP to cast ballots for him.
